Western Albemarle Principal Search

The search for a new Principal at Western Albemarle is underway.  The Principal Search is a comprehensive process involving a national search and input from all stakeholders.  Advertisements will be placed specifically for the position at Western Albemarle beginning at the end of December.  The application process is open to Albemarle County Public School employees. They will be accepting applications for approximately one month.

Human Resources met with the PTO on December 15 to gather feedback.  If you would also like to provide feedback to Human Resources and County Administrators about what qualities or characteristics that you think are important for the new principal at Western Albemarle please send an email to the individuals listed below.  Your comments will be used to develop competency based questions to be used for the interviews.

The applications will be reviewed and candidates will be screened for minimum requirements.  Qualified individuals will be invited to interview.  A panel of HR, administrators, Western Albemarle parents, Western Albemarle staff, and Western Albemarle students will be established to conduct the initial interviews.  The panel will then select which candidates to move forward for a second interview with the Superintendent and directors.  The Superintendent would like to be able to recommend a final candidate to the Board by April.  The interview panel will meet during the day.  If you are interested in serving on the interview panel as a parent representative please contact Janet Webster (mailto:jwebster@k12albemarle.org).
